lose his job for suggesting that she might need to re-stock?

(39,343 posts)She says the stupid shit she says in order get people to talk about her.
As we used to say here, "Let it drop". She's been given two weeks free PR because Bashir decided to point out her stupidity.
Let her drop and she'll go away. She's saying more outlandish stuff as a desperate plea for attention. Ignore the toddler and the tantrums will stop sooner than later.

Sometimes, though, we can't resist. It's like a cat batting a bug, really.

(793 posts)The folks who idolize her have a one tract mind especially, the media folks who truly savor her belches. I feel bad the idiots that call themselves Repug conservatives but the media is different. they have enough brains to know what they are doing.

(12,151 posts)I don't watch Bashir generally, and I know he can be a little harsh, albeit usually in a clever way.
But this comment -- which I thought was forgotten a month ago -- didn't seem that outrageous to me. I thought he couched it in a way that only tangentially suggested the "shocking" thing. And he tied it to Palin's own idiotic comments pretty clearly. Not nearly as blatant as Ed's "conservative slut" comment, for example.
Wonder if there's some power struggle going on at MSNBC lying beneath.

WE CAN DO THIS - ask Phil to keep Martin Bashir, he's an important progressive voice

(4,238 posts)was that there is already so much fecal matter being spewed from Palin's mouth, that adding more seemed redundant. The worst thing you can do to that narcissistic half-wit is not insult her, but ignore her. Bashir will be missed, I hope MSNBC brings him back.

(15,257 posts)Not being a consumer of MSNBC or other streaming content providers I couldn't relate to this until I watched Bashir's segment.
Perhaps that segment was typical of his on-air persona but I felt it was crude and not very effective. I have negative feelings about that Palin-witch but why bother expending on-air minutes and personal life-time minutes to giving a sh*t?
After only one viewing of Bashir, I don't think I'd bother looking again.

(7,720 posts)cares about Sarah Palin?
All of her power comes from the left. She some how has figured out how to crawl up the ass of the left and stir shit just to get attention for herself. If she were ignored, she'd go away.

(15,262 posts)What he said was quite appropriate as a reaction. His mistake was to react in the first place instead of ignoring her. Of course she is fodder for media mediocrity, but those who rise higher have enough brain to either do humor or present something that really matters.
Advice to the next Martin: Once Palin is only mentioned on comedy channels, the world will be in proper alignment.

(9,186 posts)Bashir worked with MSNBC Lady Blah Blah is a shill for FOX "news".
One is trying to be a legitimate news organization with on-air personalities you can trust. the other intends to be a propaganda network favoring the interests of corporate America through hatred, bigotry and fear-mongering.
I forgot to add: she is following a script. so is Rush, so is Orally slant-head...they are paid to say outrageous things. Goobers sit at home with a zombie-stare at their TVs nodding their heads, slobbering on their t-shirts as they agree with these hateful tools who are paid to say what they say.

(5,103 posts)It just never crossed my mind to defecate in anyones mouth. America, educated by a Brit.
Palin doesn't understand the big picture when you toss out buzz words like slavery, Hitler, death panels and the like.
These are more than words and she should either STFU or get educated by Martin Bashir as to the real meaning of what she is spewing.

(718 posts)MSNBC's lack of integrity and ethics just got more repulsive. Their strict adherence to the views of their corporate masters will continue to steer them toward boredom and RW conformity. Pretty soon you won't be able to tell the difference between Fox, CNN and MSNBC. I recommend Al Jazeera and Free Speech TV as alternatives. The MSNBC habit of castrating and neutering their on-air personalities does not bode well for either of them.
