Does Sarah Palin appear a bit more "wired" these days?

?6

I wonder if anyone else has noticed the quickness and abruptness of her responses, the tightness of her gestures, etc. increasing in the past 4-6 months?

I'm not trying to attack her personally, but if she is changing somehow that seems worth mentioning, especially if she hopes to run for office in the future or is giving potentially unsound advice to political leaders or segments of her party.

The RW machine that found her a useful idiot in years past now has no use for her. And they didn't buy up truckloads of her book in order to artificially inflate sales numbers. So now she's seeing what everybody else already knew. She is completely irrelevant.

The publicity materials for her book indicated that one of the areas she would take on would be the commercialization of Christmas (esp. since it's the big box retailers that have done more to strip the holiday of any meaning beyond gimme, gimme, gimme).

Instead, when questioned about the overcommercialization of the holiday Palin has repeatedly defended the process making the inane claim that the commericialization of Christmas brings "Joy".

Funny, I thought the process of being with family and loved ones over the holiday season would have been sufficient to create the feeling of "joy". That, and seeing holiday decorations and hearing carols and such.

I guess someone had to remind Sarah that criticizing business holiday practices (esp. in light of the controversy of chasing profits vs. letting your workers have a day off on Thanksgiving) is a big no-no.

She was tossed off FOX, then brought back with a much more modest contract.

Is her new book Sarah Rants At Imaginary Liberal Conspiracies and other Old-Timey Christmas Stories getting propped up by bulk sales? I'm not sure, but I think the answer is "no".

The Right Wingers have been doing this for a long time. It is like push polling. You take what the public more-or-less trusts (polls and the NYT best seller list) and you simply subvert those institutions. By literally buying a truckload of books and sending them directly to the recycling center, they were able to force the NYT to say that their views are among the most popular.

Propaganda wars.

It was good for Miss Sarah while it lasted. She got more than her 15 minutes. She should have no complaints.

It isn't like there a re a bunch of RWers getting instructions to go out and buy certain books and them come to Sally's house on Thursday to review them.

"Book clubs" is just another of those Frank Luntz-isms -- a completely fraudulent use of the English language designed to confuse people. They LITERALLY buy books by the truckload and send them directly to recycling centers. There is no "club" in the middle, except in name only. The books are never read. They are never even opened in most cases.

Sarah did not qualify for an Alaskan Permanent Fund dividend this year because she was out of the state too many days. Todd, Willow and Piper did. I'm not sure about Trig, but my guess is he's been hanging out in AK, as well. I always felt like Sarah treated him as a prop, and he's probably not as useful now that he's getting older.

Ed. On further checking, Todd, Trig and Piper got PFDs this year. Sarah, Bristol and Willow didn't.

I had difficulty watching Jane Fonda, in movies, for decades, she seemed very wired and jittery, and her voice tight and strained.
come to find out, in her autobiography, she mentioned taking legal speed...for years and years, including the present
( at the time of the book writing)
Pissed me off, since she sold a very popular excerise video, which implied that excercise was what kept her trim.

Had the same reaction in watching Palin of late..that pressured speech, and tight voice.

Her look has become more hardened. I noticed it particularly with her interview on Fox news sunday a few weeks back. This was the link I saw. http://freakoutnation.com/2013/11/24/on-fox-sarah-palin-weighs-in-on-the-nucular-option-and-appears-to-be-speaking-in-tongues/

I read it and then watched the video and it really struck me how much she has changed. I've honestly been wondering if she is taking too many meds. That's not an attack, watching the video at the link I posted above, this is a VERY changed person.

It's not just her look, she is honestly becoming more non-comprehensive. I've never liked her, her politics or well anything about her, but she used to have a bit of joy in her eyes doing what she did. She seemed to like what she was doing at a certain point, politically or punditrally. (is that a word? It should be! )

I'm not really seeing that anymore.

I find it hard to believe that Sarah Palin is Meth Addict. How can someone that served half a term as a Governor of Alaska fall so far? (If she's on meth, that is). I pretty much disagree with everything she's ever said, but I still think it would be sad if she was hooked on meth (which there is no proof of). I would really like to hear some good news about this. I would love to see some proof that she isn't doing meth, but I haven't seen any. Hopefully this evidence will be brought forth soon by the lamestream media or Sarah herself.

Until then, I hope Sarah gets the help she needs (if she's a meth addict).

The speaking engagements have slowed to a crawl, which means the $75,000 speaking fees, first-class airfare and bendy straws have gone away. (She's repped by Washington Speakers Bureau and you can only get her current fees on request, which means she's probably getting $25k plus coach-class airfare.) The tea party that used to be her primary source of income have moved to people like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul - equally insane but employed as elected officials, at levels high enough to actually commit some of the devastation they demand. The multimillion-dollar Fox News gig has become a far-less-lucrative part-time Fox News deal that requires her to travel to a Fox studio in the Lower 48 probably at her own expense, and the bulk buy of "Sarah Palin Fights the War on Christmas" she was counting on so she could afford to buy Todd those new fishhooks he needs never happened. And as pointed out upthread, two of the Palins were out of state long enough to disqualify them from Alaska Permanent Fund distributions. Expenses tend to expand to match income, and for a few years Sarah Palin's income was in the $12-$15 million per year range. While many of you see a tweaker, I see someone who has no fucking idea how to get herself out of the financial abyss without winding up in one of those "famous people who went bankrupt" stories in the Enquirer.

As to her appearance: if you are in your early fifties but want to look like you're in your early thirties, thousands of dollars she no longer has will be required.
