Just jaw dropping! Hungry pelican opens bill like a basketball net and SLAM DUNKS catfish with such ease it doesn’t even touch the sides

full grown pigeon! I was shocked. He seemed upset (or he was just bored) that pigeons were taking all the food people were tossing his way so he just scooped up a full grown pigeon and downed it.

I won't post the video here. You can google "pelican eats a pigeon" and find it on YouTube.

You will find a brazillion videos of pelicans swallowing ducks, pigeons, ducklings and all manner of creatures. Creeps me out.

I agree: it's really creepy how this giant bird can scoop up full-grown birds and swallow them whole that way.

they opened wide - that the lower beak would drop out of sight - but that bird has 'eyes on the prize' all the way. Pretty cool!

And birds are creepy in some ways - I remember the first time I saw an egret gulping down a rat. As Xema pointed out, pure dinosaur...
