"If you could turn stupid into a fuel, you could use Sarah Palin to leave the Solar System."

History Palinized
By Martin Longman

If you could turn stupid into a fuel, you could use Sarah Palin to leave the Solar System. Her appearance at Liberty University set a new standard for idiocy in a public figure. Before I quote her, I want to remind you that Thomas Jefferson was so dissatisfied with the New Testament that he cut out all the references to miracles and the resurrection, creating a new book we call The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. He explained his rationale this way:

“Among the sayings and discourses imputed to him [Jesus] by his biographers, I find many passages of fine imagination, correct morality, and of the most lovely benevolence; and others again of so much ignorance, so much absurdity, so much untruth, charlatanism, and imposture, as to pronounce it impossible that such contradictions should have proceeded from the same being.”

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Short, April 13, 1820

He was actually hostile to several forms of Christianity. Of Catholicism, he said, “History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government,” and “In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.” In a letter to John Adams, dated April 11, 1823, Jefferson wrote “I can never join [John] Calvin in addressing his god. He was indeed an Atheist, which I can never be; or rather his religion was Daemonism. If ever man worshipped a false god, he did.”

Finally, as a prelude to introducing you to Palin’s comments, I want to introduce you to Jefferson’s thoughts on Christmas...

Read on at your peril: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal-a/2013_12/history_palinized048099.php

The Palin quotes caused my brain to crawl out of my ear and slither into the bathroom, where it wept uncontrollably for hours and hours...but the Jefferson quotes are quite informative.

I had a dream that instructed me to follow a star in the night sky to purchase this book. I don't usually buy books because the nearest book shop is miles from my trailer park. Buying it on Amazon was super convenient, and I could do it from the office of my trailer park. The book was just as I had dreamed it would be. It was a clarion call for people like me, with more tattoos than teeth, to fight to protect Christmas. It's not just a holiday for getting drunk and overspending at Walmart, it is a celebration of our little lord Jesus and his gift to humanity. Speaking of gifts...I didn't even know Sarah Palin could write...but boy can she ever. Some of the sentences were really hard to read but mostly she is careful to avoid big words, and this makes it easier to read. I am sending this to all my family who won't be able to join me for Christmas. Just because they have limited books at their prison library doesn't mean my family (who are all Sarah Palin fans) shouldn't have the chance to read her powerful words. I will say it was a bit tiring to read it because there are a lot of pages and my mouth got tired from sounding out all the words, but don't give up. I also want to mention, that when libruls say Sister Sarah is a low information shrieky howler monkey with all the subtlety of a jackhammer on a hangover in August, they are lie-telling. Get this book for all the inmates in your family.

And you might be able to use her stupid to get out of the universe, but if you used her brains as fuel it wouldn't power an ant on his moped halfway around a bb.

why don't we just give up and go full bore war on x-mas? I for one would gladly napalm one of those pesky and annoying nativity scenes that crop up everywhere after, hmm Halloween it is now. Next year I suppose the war will start on St. Patrick day.

is minuscule. Every now and then some group objects to one of the literally thousands upon thousands of representations of the Nativity or Christ in Christmas, but it's hardly a blip on the screen. The "War" is utterly trumped up.

As for Sarah, she's one of a kind, that lass. One of a kind.

They ALL - to a person - believe things exactly like that. We are talking about somewhere around 25% of Americans including a fair number of doctors, lawyers, teachers, "journalist" and otherwise educated people.

I remember soon after Barack Obama was first elected President - my otherwise nice and reasonably intelligent Aunt Betty saying, "My problem with Obama is that whenever our country turns away from the Biblical principles that our nation was founded on we get into a lot of trouble." I couldn't figure out which point to argue first. All members of the Christian right to a person and without exception believe this version of history similar to what the former Alaskan Governor is espousing. They would be completely unaware that there is any other historic perspective. They would have never heard it and would consider the suggestion that there was even a strong secular-humanist component in the founding of the Republic to be nothing less than a Communist lie. We are not talking about some fringe of the fringe. We are talking about roughly 25% of Americans and probably the majority of registered Republicans of today.

It's amazing that the lawyers can believe it. They forgot Constitutional law. Maybe just memorized it for the bar exam and forgot about it when it did not apply much in practice.

we could stick a fuse in her ass and aim her at some distant, empty section of the universe. We could name a constellation after her - The Big Dip, maybe. Or maybe we could send her into an elliptical orbit in the solar system - a comet of sorts. Comet Vomit we'd call her. She could be recognized by the "tail" of bullshit that would pollutinate the heavens as she orbited at a distance far enough to spare us her whiz-dumb.

ever written about the commercial enterprise that bear Jesus' name. Jesus and Jefferson would both have admired one another I think -- and both been saddened by so much of what was around them.

But think on this point. How many politicians could say today what Jefferson wrote?

If they aren't figuratively burned at the stake today, they are certainly chased from any consideration for public office. Yet Jefferson said these things and was regarded as a giant among the founders.

What does that tell us about the glide path we are on?

...than the 21st century Liberal's tendency to turn their websites into wailing walls about stupid/ignorant people. The resulting storm of web links ensures the RW miscreants in question will have Google rankings that are at least respectable.

Unfortunately, I've noticed that the wailing consumes so much of their grey matter that most any progressive solution that comes into view looks alien to them.

There is, however, this tiny bit of energy left over which they expend in fawning over 'Big Dog' and other followers of Ronald Reagan.

Doug,I have been following your writings for a long time and have come to the conclusion that you will jump on any bandwagon that will destroy Christianity or any conservative or moral values that have shaped and built this great nation.I have never heard you object to any muslim beliefs or speak up when Americans are murdered, mutulated,or speak out against teachings from the Koran.I cant figure out what you really want this country to become. We have a constitution and we will abide by it and not change it.If people do not like this country,I like the old saying,DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS.I am not going to reply because I don't feel like getting into a pissing match,I just wrote what I believe and I have the guts to stand by my words. No one does my thinking for me.
