on right-wing radio is because of Citizens United?
I really don't like to be cynical about good news, but perhaps some of these companies figure they can influence the political process secretly so why bother advertising on political programming and having to deal with all that comes with it.

(8,556 posts)But I'm not sure that all of these companies are necessarily interested in greatly influencing the political process. That's probably not why most of them were advertising on Rush. They did it because he has a large audience and they wanted a piece of the action.
I think it's less of the first thing you said and more of the second. Even indirect association with political figures and positions can hurt a brand. Maybe they have decided it's just not worth the risk anymore.

(154,021 posts)The audience on RW radio has dropped like a stone. It is mostly an older audience, and even that is on wane.
Also the country is turning left.
I mean what he said about Fluke is classic Rush.
But with decreasing audience numbers it s really not worth it.

Disaster hit, and they woke up to the fact that it was only a matter of time before their brands got tarnished by hate talkers. All of them did it following in Rush's footsteps since he's their leader; businesses realized that people weren't going to support it.
