(8,175 posts)but a lot of people are needing assistance without even getting medical care. They are doing without any health care and they still need help with food or heat or housing.
We need more than just affordable health care for all...but it's a start. What the health care crisis is doing is making more people fall into the "needing help" category than would have anyway.
The issue this thread is about is unfair wages...inequality of wealth and income distribution. It is unfairly being distributed to the top right now.

(8,175 posts)new invention, creation, or whatever...as long as the equity is shared by all who share in the production of the company. In other words, if the CEO or owner are making millions, the rest of the workers should be earning fantastic rewards as well. The success of the company should be shared by all. If it isn't, it's not fair and it's not good for the economy or community.

(5,169 posts)A constantly tardy/absent slacker doing minimal work should not be as well rewarded as the woman who is there 10 minutes early and stays two hours late, doing not only her own work, but fixing the messes made by Mr Slacker.

(343 posts)Low marginal tax rates. Prior to Reagan so much of the income above three million would go towards taxes that the company would reinvest the money back in the company. Additionally, the strong unions ensured the workers received appropriate wages, and the company pensions were properly funded.
Now, it all flows to the top and out of the company.

(26,645 posts)While a raise in the minimum wage is still necessary, if the burden of providing some sort of health care benefits disappears, one of the biggest obstacles between labor and management is removed. One of the reasons unions flourish in Canada and Germany is there are no expensive health care benefits on the table.

(13,778 posts)funneled to them, they don't need to change a darned thing. And it's a lot easier for them to do this than it is to operative in a competitive economy.
Just capture the government and take all the money. Simple.
