We're thankful this holiday season that Boehner has decided to (finally) declare that the emperor has no clothes; that the Koch brothers, Ted Cruz, the Club For Growth, Dick Armey and Freedom Works are now the Wizards of Oz left standing naked before us. The American people deserve to see just how it is that the so-called "grassroots" movement called the Tea Party was long ago co-opted by these billionaire corporatists.

Never mind that nagging voice inside our heads that begs the question: where was this version of Boehner three months ago? Did he develop a conscience and a spine in two months? Can a merlot hangover produce some long overdue cut-the-crap honesty?

Or maybe it was the pope, because some of us consider the Time magazine cover of an alms-delivering pontiff and Boehner's political epiphany as very good signs, even if they're simply, oddly, coincidental.

In a time when the anti-government forces got a little too close to being "in charge" of Congress during the $24bn-in-lost-revenues-courtesy-of-Ted-Cruz's shutdown, some of us have even had a fleeting, flirtatious idea about converting to Catholicism. A world leader who is willing to call the end game of capitalism antithetical to humanity? What? When did the Vatican take over the wheels of John McCain's straight-talk express?

Wow, I can't believe! I got EarlG's Pic of the MOment all wrong.. I thought he was talking about the Dems when he said it. Ooops. Oh well, I went back to my post but didn't have to change it because it went for either way.

the Wall Streeters might not give him enough money if he doesn't do THEIR will. He has finally decided he has more to fear from not furthering Wall Street's wishes than he does from a Teabagger primary challenge.

Just a loud and diversionary gust of wind, signifying nothing but the traditional money and vote pandering. Not to be confused with what is going to really happen in Congress.
Boehner is just as likely to embrace Cruz on the Capitol steps next week, if politically necessary. Remember, once they get to Washington, Job One is staying there.

A) Francis calls John and lets him know he means every word he's been saying, and that he's going to Hell.

B) A representative of the firms on Wall Street who lost $24B, calls to tell him they want to beat the Hell out of him.

C) The Koch brothers call to say he's won't get protection from them when he leaves office, and he can go to Hell.

D) Jesus and the three Ghosts of Christmas call on him to tell him he is going to Hell.

Between Obama's wins on Syria, getting Putin to help, the Iranian genie put in its bottle and earning worldwide acclaim as the GOP is defined as The Scum of the Earth, Boehner thinks he's already in Hell.
