This POS hates cats too. I never watched the show, except bits and pieces once, but one of my friends used to regularly and said the guy expressed his disgust for cats.

Zoom out to the point of view of some archaeologist 2000 years in the future, and they might say "while their ice caps were melting and pollution was destroying their habitat, they were concerned with internal strife and apparently with duck hunters with offensive ideas."

I guess my point is we're mostly arguing with ourselves here. The other side will say "I believe what I believe, science and empathy be damned!" (or darned). The Republicans are mostly responsible for at-will hiring (right to work) but when it comes home to roost they whine. What it comes down to is this: Republicans tend to be selfish, Dems tend to be more society/community minded. Fighting such bigoted views just reinforces selfish people to think they must be right, since they are causing such a stir. They want to feel like they are persecuted, like their savior. War on Christmas etc. Why give it to them?

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1 ). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21 . In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Standard answer is they are all Old Testament and were part of the OT covenant for Jews. The new convenant with Jesus abolished all of these.

If you use the Bible to justify your dislike of gay people then you cannot cherry pick and ignore other passages, like this one in Exodus, which I will gladly invoke because I need some help". Relative never said a word to me about gays after that.

Paul, the NT author who speaks against gay people says that it is a shame for a man to have long hair, such as Phil's. He forbids men from wearing any covering of their heads when doing religious rites of any kind, Phil often preaches wearing a headband. Paul says women, including Duck women, must never wear any costly clothing, jewlery, no braided hair, no sartorial attempt to highlight beauty. They are also to remain silent in public and never so much as question any man but their husbands, then only in private. Duck Women do not follow these rules and according to Paul that's the man's fault. Even if that man has shameful long unkempt hair affected as part of a marketing plan in spite of, you know, the rules of the religion he claims he's so devoted to. Can't even cut his hair the way the NT tells him to. Much less does he sell all he owns and give it to the poor as what's his Jesus ordered the rich to do.
Jesus who had nary a word of criticism for gay people forbade public prayer in no uncertain terms. Phil prays in public, on TV, you name it. He prays in public as part of his marketing plan, in fact. I am sick and tired of people using the stolen myth of the resurrected savior god (in this case the Cosmic Jewish Zombie son of a carpenter) to justify their own fears and bigotry. I'd respect their opinions more if they just came right out and said:
