by traditional republican metrics, obama is doing a hell of a good job.

the stock market is up. way up. it's already well more than doubled, and he's on track to outperform their hero saint reagan in that regard. not likely clinton (who more than tripled the market), but then again, you never know.

he nailed bin laden and the worst foreign policy scandal/failure they can try to pin on him (benghazi) pales in comparison to the reagan's disaster in beirut, where 248 american military members died, the marines' worst loss since iwo jima.

you can critique the aca if you care to, and further argue as to whether it will improve in time or fall apart, but you can't deny that obama achieved something that eluded many previous presidents -- a landmark modification of america's ludicrously inefficient system of health care distribution.

even if the aca is scrapped and replaced with something better, you still have to give obama credit for making that possible.

if somehow mclame had won and achieved all this, they would have made him as much of a saint as ronnie. they would have fallen over themselves to praise the aca, they would have laughed benghazi off, and they would have touted the economic miracle and triumphant return of vibrant capitalism.

amazing what a difference in p.r. it makes when you have an (r) after your name instead of a (d).
