General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow often do you comment on local media websites?
When you read your local media outlets, do you scroll through the comments section?
Do you ever comment in a manner to inform when you find yourself reading blatently false or ignorant information/comments?
Just curious with a heavy-use forum such as DemocraticUnderground if you use the information gathered here to inform elsewhere...
I personally comment frequently.
I'm currently watching a thread based on NYS Minimum Wage Increase.

(19,838 posts)I'm not sure how much overall traffic the comments sections on major newspapers draw but from my experience they are overloaded with paid trolls. They're not there to discuss but to push an agenda and mold opinion-- still there's no reason to make it easy for them.

(32,084 posts)I used to, but that was before they all required you go through Facebook. I used to comment on false and ignorant comments, but that was when I could do it anonymously. I live in an extremely right-wing area, and these people are batcrap crazy. I would rather they didn't know who I am. I also didn't do it often, because, as one might suspect, not amount of facts could change the minds of these lunatics. It was generally a complete waste of my time. If it's not something spewed by FoxNews, Limbaugh or their ilk, these people refuse to believe it.
