Had tried to sign up on 15 Dec and was told they can't identify me. Come to find out, where you're supposed to input your SS#, it says 'optional' so I just skipped it, as I do. That was a mistake. So save yourself some hassle and fill that out!
Today I sat down and prepared to finish this process. I called 1-800-318-2596 and spoke to a very nice guy who walked me through the whole thing.
Bottom line, my payments will be zero...that is $.0!! I work part-time and don't make a lot of money obviously . The subsidies I qualified for pay for this plan; it's a Humana Silver plan.
AND THIS IS IN GEORGIA!! Don't ask me, I'm just grateful.
One major glitch: I was feeling great about this news, so went ahead and signed up for a GA dental plan, cost about $32/month. I just googled the company; they have no providers anywhere near Savannah, where I live. They need to work on that, as I won't be driving to Atlanta to see a dentist.
I am so delighted!
The call was good because I had an actual human there to answer questions; at one point he called tech support to get some additional answers.

(74 posts)You are one of my DU faves. Glad to hear that Obamacare is functioning here in Georgia despite all efforts to disarm it.

(4,856 posts)I'm nearby in Brunswick, Georgia and was worried our state was going to be more ass backwards due to the state legislature fighting against setting up an exchange.

Now let's fix it like they promised as they passed it!

(12,448 posts)I love hearing about people who finally get health insurance, and not only because it makes Republicans look :ahem: stupid. It's a great thing when people can get affordable health insurance. Use it in good health! (Don't forget your preventative care, screenings like mammograms, etc.)

(4,309 posts)So glad to hear you had a great experience signing up. Friend of mine just signed up and her payments are $0 as in zero, zilch, nothing.
So glad to see the ACA up and working and making a positive difference for real people!

(6,783 posts)to the cost of about $515 a month. No dental or vision coverage. And the annual premium is more than my expected annual income as the sole unpaid caregiver for an aging parent with dementia. Tax credits do me no good and my state opted not to expand their Medicaid program. I feel like a second class citizen.
But I no longer have to worry about losing coverage or beng priced out of the market if I am diagnosed with a chronic disease.

(177 posts)It feels very good to be covered doesn't it?
When I got enrolled thru the marketplace, I found all my existing doctors were all available on each of the available plans. Can't wait until people discover that YES, you can keep your doctors. Another lie the GOPwill have to eat.
Thank you President Obama! It's cool to be covered.
