Lots of people are making predictions about what is going to happen in 2014. My suggestion is that we all join Stephen in stocking up on popcorn to watch the battle that is about to be waged in the Republican Party. It promises to be highly entertaining.
After years of pandering to the lunatics in their ranks as a way to gin up Obama Derangement Syndrome, the 1%ers in the party have had enough. And of course, their response is to assume that they can buy the party back from the lunatics if they just spend enough money. Why would that surprise any of us coming from the folks who think money can fix anything?

On the other side of the coin, the lunatics are gearing up for a blood bath. These are the folks the Chamber so affectionately calls "fools." How do you suppose they're going to react to that? Yep, the very same energy the Republicans fueled to win the 2010 midterms is now being unleashed against their own establishment.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving party...bring on the popcorn!

(90 posts)we all have read about how the GOP is supposedly self destructing, we see reports of their in fighting yet many polls out there show it is not such a clean cut race in the houses - so caution not to drink our own cool aid and take those reports at face value at the risk of not voting in 2014. There are still many fools who follow the fox...

(9,462 posts)they'll fall in line until after the elections. That's one thing about the Republican voter, they're authoritarian so they'll do what they're told. I think the corporate money behind the gop has told them to reign in the wackos and the wackos are doing what they're told.

(6,234 posts)Social Cons can always be counted on to turn out for midterms. ALWAYS. But the GOP has gotten all the use from these hateful fuckers they can, and it's time for them to put their broken toy away.
I predict that the GOP will do very well in 2014, they will get out the vote and we will not. In 2016, I expect that they will run Christie and they will win. Not that any of this will change things all that much. The contest isn't over ideology, it is over which set of millionaires get to cash in by serving their Billionaire owners.

(83,785 posts)I am not prepared to throw in the towel on the eve of the New Year. I will make no predictions for a Democratic fail in 2014, but that's just me.
I plan to do whatever I can to help some great candidates elected in 2014~
GOTV 2014. Vote as if your life depends upon it, and it does.
