Therefore, shouldn't high school football be banned as a state sponsored religion?

(12,265 posts)When they talk about storm shelters in schools, they say they cannot afford it but HS football stadiums look like College ones, with fancy buses to take them to games. It is off the charts.
I assume the sarcasm but you might be on to something here
BTW I love football, I just think it has gotten out of hand, like organized religion

(12,265 posts)I always loved HS football when I was in HS in Illinois. We used to carpool to the games with parents. My Dad used to walk the sidelines following the game (we only had one set of bleachers). The team rode in a regular school bus. No missing classes for practice or anything else for that matter. Grades needed to be made or else for players, members fo the marching band and cheerleaders. I loved walking the sidelines with my Dad, that is how I learned about football. My husband swears he married me because I knew what a nickle back was.
It has gone way too far! They should not be on ESPN as high school players enough already!
