He is living in a motel room tonight and probably to a shelter later next week. I am in Ohio and trying to find him some help.
There has got to be someone here on D.U. that will help a fellow D.U.er from going to a shelter.
If I could come up with enough money to get him here I would at least offer him a warm bed and food and spare him a shelter. He was living with a teabagger in order to keep a roof over his head. He is desperate and in need of help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Although I have never met him....if I can find a way to get him here I would.
I know the feeling of losing a job after 31yrs and now working two jobs just to eat and have utilities.

(6,896 posts)not a shelter of any sort as I recall, but when things get that bad, they are lucky to have an operation like that
in that area.
they do mention sheltering the homeless on their page here, so maybe my recollection is faulty.

(11,480 posts)there is a waiting list if you can believe.

(10,440 posts)they offer many services and there is no waiting list for them..... the overnight shelters are not run by L and F they are run by various groups and that info you can find at Land F. L and F offers job referrals etc and food and info about all of that.
I live in grass Valley and up here we have a great shelter, Utah's place that offers overnight, job stuff, all kinds of things...So if he could get up here, he would have it better than at Laves and Fishes I think....
IM Me and I can help him if he is coming up here.....

(6,896 posts)the most easily served demographic is women with children, and THEY have great difficulty getting placed in my experience.
Men are discriminated against in the rush to secure childrens interests
Boy we sure have a lot of people outdoors these days in California,
