This is the 1st time in all my years at DU to do an OP like this. WOW it gets response. I seldom make OPs because the more thought put into them the more likely they are to sink without a response.

...I'm thinking of doing the same. I don't really have a dog in that fight. On the one hand, I'm quite sure that magic isn't real. OTOH, if some other are gullible enough to believe in it, what in the world can I say that will change their minds? I have a step-daughter that gets a particularly angry look in her eyes whenever I call the bunk she lays out what it is. I usually just distance myself from it as best is possible. Might be best to do so here as well.
