Salt Lake City is #8 Well at least of this morning it was. While some jaws dropped when this city was named No. 1 a couple of years ago, SLCs queer citizens knew we were on to something. There are plenty of sporty gay and lesbian ski bunnies, more than half a dozen bars and clubs including Club Try-Angles (ClubTry-Angles.com) and the enduring ladies spot Paper Moon (ThePaperMoonClub.com) and a popular annual Gay Pride celebration that last year drew some family members of Mormon LGBTs marching in support of their kids, siblings, and parents. Utahs capital does not have a Mormon majority, unlike the rest of the state, and increased scrutiny of the church following its support of the antigay Prop 8 is forcing some overtures toward queer acceptance.

(29,503 posts)by either the Advocate or some other such publication. And San Francisco was way down the list.
I just had to at that list.
Also, in light of the fact that the Advocate chose a homophobe as person of the year, Pope Francis, tells me that this publication is likely staffed by the same sorts of gay people who flirt with Log Cabin Republicanism, from time to time, and thus, not sure if they really know what they are talking about.
Anway...

(29,503 posts)I've been to (and in a couple place, lived) some of these places, and would never rank them very high on a list of 'gayest' places. And some of the gayest places are not even honorable mentions. Okee-dokee.
