going to be real icy in the mountains, many counties west of the blueridge closed today as well due to ice, flooded roads and low water bridges underwater.

Today it was because of the roads being impassable, due to the 16" of snow we received. Tomorrow is due to the incredibly low air and wind chill temperatures. By the time it hits 17, on Wednesday, it will feel like Spring!

Being from Michigan I thought the winters were "balmy" there ... so yeah, you really are cold .

I do remember my oldest telling me that school had been cancelled for what I had considered a "light dusting of snow" ... shortly thereafter, we experienced a snow storm as bad if not worse than any I have experienced in Michigan.

the stuff further north. I think No. Va has always gotten a bad rap for over reacting to winter storms. The roads really do get bad here.
