(9,186 posts)That movie is so out there, but so dead-on accurate in portraying politicians and the polulace at times.

(2,419 posts)has always been Christie on the boardwalk in Seaside acting like a member of the Jersey Shore cast. Ice cream cone in hand, flanked by State Troopers, basically challenging a guy to a fist fight for calling him out on his treatment of teachers.
Get back here you! Somebody hold me back! Phoney tough guy.

(22,497 posts)public schools he not have made the cuts he made and he said to her it was, "none of your business where I send my kids to school" trying to divert the actual point and bully her while doing it.....I was in my head saying,
"Hey fat fuck that's not what she was asking and you know it."
When is someone going to call him a fat fuck like he deserves?
(My apologies to the overweight, of which I am one. I just think that sometimes a bully needs to be bullied.

(15,224 posts)But I might just smile if someone who Christie insulted publicly had the opportunity to simply knock the shit outta him...publicly.
To me Christie is an asshole of the highest order.
elzenmahn
(904 posts)...but if somebody were to attack Christie, it would give him soooooo much political ammunition to use. He doesn't deserve it - and in the long run, I don't think you or anybody else with a conscience would be smiling.
He'll get his - in the end, I believe we all do.
hamsterjill
(15,224 posts)He's been so very ugly publicly to so many people. I do hope he "gets his". He needs to be taught a lesson.

(57,936 posts)He is a total megalomaniac who thinks he doesn't have to think about other people at all.
He's worse than even I expected.
What shocks me the most is that is audiences applaud for him. They must be very frustrated people with no self-esteem or confidence at all.
What makes Christie think that he can treat people like that?
lovemydog
(11,833 posts)- party of bullies. They get off on it. I guess they think it's funny.
hibbing
(10,109 posts)It is rather pathetic. They are a party of bullies, thugs, uncaring and unsympathetic idiots. I think it was in the republican debates where they were talking about insurance and someone without it and someone in the audience shouted "let him die", and not one of the candidates spoke out against that. It is like they have never had anyone in their family struggle with finances, with healthcare, with anything. It is just frightening.

JDPriestly
(57,936 posts)they just say, "She or he should have made better choices."
It's all blame, blame, blame anyone who is poor or has a problem. And when they have a problem, they also blame, blame, blame someone else.
For example, GWB fought two wars after lowering the taxes of the very rich, but now his party blames people who are on Social Security and Medicare for the deficits. GWB and the Republicans made the mess, but they blame the ones least able to defend themselves for having made it.
pangaia
(24,324 posts)I wonder what happened to him in his childhood.

(2,419 posts)A breakdown of just how staged and phoney the tough guy Christie image is!
Holy Cow!
treestar
(82,383 posts)It does get him a lot of press/attention. Outrageous behavior does and there are many to exploit that. Being overweight gets him commentary, too. Must be a believer in the old saw about no publicity being bad publicity.

Sorry about that.
treestar
(82,383 posts)He thinks he is being a tough guy and those who agree with him applaud. But it's just not good behavior, which I argue every time I see posts insisting Obama should act like this. The claim is gets results is an approval of bullying.
Laxman
(2,419 posts)check out the video link I posted in #13. Some of this is that he is actually an obnoxious blowhard. Some of it is a carefully crafted image-some actually staged! Christie has a staff member following him for every public appearance hoping to catch some YouTube gold to burnish his public persona as a straight talking tough guy. I notice they didn't post any youtube videos of his mea culpa press conference.
Historic NY
(37,453 posts)its going to be fun to see the screws turned tighter on him.
Guy is hard to watch.

(28,211 posts)If you stand up to the mike and say something he doesn't like:
1) He cuts your mike.
2) He outshouts you with his speaker system.
3) If you continue to speak he has the State Police frog march you out.
4) He spends the next 5 minutes belittling you to the audience.
This sets the "TONE" for the next person to speak.
rustydog
(9,186 posts)So Christie would be a good host of another Faux News show
PragmaticLiberal
(904 posts)They think he's "keeping it real".
I wonder would it be acceptable for President Obama to speak to his constituents that way.....
Quasimodem
(441 posts)I kinda wish he would speak to his opponents like that. Then, I imagine the firestorm of butthurt Republicans filling the airwaves with their squeals of outrage and am damn glad he doesn't.
