Radioactive Seawater Impact Map (update: March 2012)

http://www.asrltd.com/japan/plume.php

drag the slide control all the way to the right.

We use a Lagrangian particles dispersal method to track where free floating material (fish larvae, algae, phytoplankton, zooplankton...) present in the sea water near the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station plant could have gone since the earthquake on March 11th. THIS IS NOT A REPRESENTATION OF THE RADIOACTIVE PLUME CONCENTRATION. Since we do not know exactly how much contaminated water and at what concentration was released into the ocean, it is impossible to estimate the extent and dilution of the plume. However, field monitoring by TEPCO showed concentration of radioactive Iodine and Cesium higher than the legal limit during the next two months following the event (with a peak at more than 100 Bq/cm3 early April 2011 for I-131 as shown by the following picture).

The picture really doesn't do him justice, though.

I had just been finishing with college, anti-war mobilizing, and environmental stuff, then was busy with political campaigns, gardening, hiking and union organizing during that time period.

I didn't have the time or money for a TV or going to the movies for a few years. I've had a series of years in my life where I missed all the memes that people get from television and movies. I've had several rounds in my life where I never saw television for a few years.

Sometimes my personal and professional life has been a twenty-four hour event, just chugging along, barely enough time to eat and sleep. So I ask dumb questions like this!

But I really like the guy when I followed the link! I think my kid would have like him, too. He's adorable. Thanks for the information.
