breaches. Why aren't they naming those other retailers? I would like to know if there is a chance that my credit cards and personal information has been hacked into.
Anyone hear the names of the other three? Any speculation? Any speculation as to why they are not telling us?

If you get one from any other source, they are probably enrolling you in "credit monitoring" and some of those companies have gotten trouble for misleading consumers about this.
Report discrepancies immediately and follow-up to make sure any fraud gets corrected. It's a complete pain-in-the-ass but, as we now know with certainty, our e-info is NOT safe, even at the point of sale.
I'm sure there are other tips like using debit cards(?) and such but I'll leave that for someone else or the Googles :p

(12,769 posts)I know it has been before but with little damage. Luckily my bank is, at least so far, pretty good at ferreting out bad charges although it is frightening that they know so much about me.
