County GOP Auctions Rifle In MLK's Honor

The geniuses who run the Multnomah County Republican Party in Multnomah County, Oregon are honoring Martin Luther King Jr and Abraham Lincoln by raffling off a rifle in their honor.

From the MCP website ...

Portland, OR January 13, 2014: Multnomah Country Republicans recognize the incredible time of year we are in. In successive months to start the year, we celebrate the legacy of two great Republicans who demonstrated leadership and courage that all of us still lean on today: Martin Luther King, Jr and Abraham Lincoln. In celebrating these two men, and the denial of the rights they fought so hard against, the Multnomah County Republican Party announces that we have started our third raffle for an AR-15 rifle (or handgun of the winner’s choice). The drawing will be held at our Lincoln Day Dinner on February 15th, 2014. Tickets are once again $10 apiece, or 12 for $100, and there is a hard cap of 500 tickets in the raffle.

Notably, both honorees are associated with gun violence. In fact, Dr. King was shot to death with a 30-06 Remington Game-master.

And it gets better! Because doesn't it always? The keynote speaker will be none other than Rafael Cruz, father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R) of Texas.

Tickets are already nearly sold out for the raffle, but if they do, the organizers will get another gun and raffle that, too.

If Republicans would take 5 minutes to read anything Martin Luther king said about Labor, War, Economics, Equality etc. they would be calling him a socialist. I wish we had more Democrats as liberal as MLK today.

...I swear you can, just for a brief moment, the barest glimpse...see inside their Bizarro world.

I don't think Giger and Lovecraft working together on acid could match what I saw. There aren't enough CAPS to cleanse the mind of the need to boggle verbally. There is only that moment of stunned silence where you try to hold onto a semblance of sanity, smile, look away at something you love around you, and remember that time is slowly removing them and their diseased 'ideas' from the social collective.

...of course, a daquiri doesn't hurt either. But really...could they be -any- more blatant?
