Rather than a "sex strike" protesting these anti-women laws........

why not just get behind the May Day general strike and make women's issues a big part of that? The problems with a "sex strike" are many and varied, the main one being that will be unseen by most. A general strike against economic oppression with a dual focus on women's rights would be MUCH more effective in scaring the ruling class. After all, they are the ones behind the repression in the first place.

Just an idea for consideration.

there is more, there IS a may day in the US?

Great idea, but my point is that those in control of the megaphone will make it difficult for people to learn of that planned strike.

(Therefore we have work to do)

yes there has been some talk about it. Marmar posted a thread on it in SP recently.

As to May Day in the US, I'm personally making it MY holiday this year. I'll take the day off and lose the money. It's actually an older holiday (Beltane? I think) than pretty much anything we've got in this country.

A sex strike won't work. Hopefully women who recognize these issues and would consider such a strike wouldn't be with guys who would find their views objectionable. What would a "sex" strike accomplish? Seems to me that it would be nothing. I'm a man and I'm on your side - how is my wife not having sex with me going to help make the point? (She agrees BTW)

sex - it's biology. Let's not get into the Republican business of denying the obvious.

but whose male partners are merely passively supportive or flat out passive might nudge those guys out of their passivity.

If both you and your wife are already private fretters but public do-nothings, then there would be no point. If both of you are private fretters AND public activists, there would be no point. If your wife is both a private fretter and a public activist but you are only passively supportive, then I suggest she withhold sex in order to nudge you to stand shoulder to shoulder with her.
