The perfect spot for Google to bug every house, Just use the "Learning Thermostat,"

For only 3.2 billion Google buys Nest.

Nest is best known for its “Learning Thermostat,” which figures out users’ daily habits. The technology is already savvy enough, for example, to know not to blast cool air through the house on a hot summer’s day if everyone has already left for work.

Actually, though, back here on Planet Earth, these things are already doing a good job of reducing energy usage, which is kind of important.

As an aside, I hear it's really easy to get used to being able to turn on and off the heat from your phone.

including, when necessary, interconnected appliances, thermostats, lighting and water heaters. But the idea that the system must be connected to Google or any other Internet entity to function is plain silliness. Which just about guarantees that it will become a legal mandate for all new home construction within 10 years.
