Even though the GOP supposedly lets go of an issue or back down nationally or publicly the opposition still has to be wary. Remember Republican voters and their politicians are no more than snakes, weasels or cockroaches. They will sneak back in the dead of night or under the radar and bite you.
The battle in the states will go on and they will pass more and more sick laws because they can massage or steal local elections. The GOP is like leprosy. Once you have it you cannot get rid of it.
And I believe the GOP will deliver its sadistic agenda by stealth and force. If you watch what has happened to the OWS movement you can expect the same of any protest movement including public protest by women and children. The GOP and police will attack them just like they have OWS. GOP is an evil immoral ideology. And there are too many weak kneed or blue dog democrats who seem to be willing to go along.
Sadly our little local nazi governor in Colorado and Denver mayor who are supposedly Democrats have gone along with suppressing OWS. They are not really Democrats.
Add up all the laws the GOP has passed already. The damage they are doing is cumulative. It is like ingesting arsenic over time. Eventually, the victim succumbs. Womens rights will end unless a strong counter attack is launched.
In the end I believe that women are going to have to take and openly militant stance on issues that effect them. Based on what I am seeing there is no sign that the legislative assault is going to end any time soon. I see it escalating over time. And the GOP will engage in subterfuge and covert insurgent warfare against women. The GOP is engaging the churches and preparing a massive assault to make contraception unavailable and even illegal for all women in the US.
This culture war is really no joke and it is serious and it is imminent. The reason I feel this way is because of all the undercurrents that still persist and are pushed by the GOP and churches. They are determined to deliver theocracy by stealing the election or instigating coup if necessary.
Perhaps I am being paranoid, but sometimes one might have reason to be paranoid. At some point women of men of conscience are going to have to take a more militant approach to GOP politicians and the churches. The churches are now fair game for protest and criticism since they have decided to force their beliefs on the nonbelieving population.
It is not the terrorists who will destroy freedom and democracy in this country it is the GOP and the churches.

Notice how they get attention and response. If we want to get bogged down in the details, we could easily miss the difference between content and context.
We are being lead. We know that getting attention is more obviously more important and valuable than being right or wrong or being reasonable or unreasonable as far as captivating minds and steering responses is concerned.
We may be unwittingly drawn into efforts and reactions that effect us in more ways than we realize. Energy is always a part of the equation. Now, imagine being someone, (or a group or methodology) who understands the nature of media, public response and the way energy flows to where intention goes. Consider that this dynamic and context is not such a common knowledge and is, therefore, easily manipulated because people can assume they have a greater understanding of how things function socially than they actually do.
That is the formula to me. It is only magical or random when you do not have the information or knowledge you would to do it yourself, (just as any art or science appears to the amazed and uninitiated who don't see the practice and particulars).
When we can see above our own, inculcated leve of abstraction, to which we have been trained and conditioned to exist and react from, we will find out just how easily we are manipulated based on our trained assumptions. We will be open and able to utilize our greater capacity to divine the nature of control and garner our own natural capacities to expose and respond to the artificial creation of misery that proves to be totally unnecessary and unreal in the long-run.
What does that take? Waking up? Bravery? Honesty? Realization? Yes!

The GOP are going to pull some shit for sure & when they realize they have nothing left to lose they'll destroy everything in their path! 8 more months!
When Republicans are out of office they think they're job is to manipulate or cheat their way back in and nothing else matters to them. They want the power to access every taxpayer penny they can find until there's nothing left and they'll be dead!
The fact the POTUS is black is making them insane and he's such a classy, calm and thoughtful man. I like his style and now and again he brings us a surprise to lift the gloom. ie bin laden, Khadaffi, kindness to his people to the point of writing many of them personal checks over these years. Have any of the others done that?
Communities will have to come together to determine a course of action that will flatten the GOP. The Marines are Occupy as are the Army and off duty military personell. They said they were protecting the people they're supposed to protect, the American people. Awesome!
I'm hoping they'll help with voting issues and protect the people's constitutional right to vote!
You wrote my nightmare up there but people don't like to talk coup. It's a reality though and it should be brought to the fore!

(8,224 posts)There was a time when this republican stuff was publicly mocked and laughed at. One of the biggest problems today is that this lunacy is taken seriously. There is actually a "debate" as if that side is even credible. To some extent they unfortunately are credible, simply because 2010 put so many of them in office.
People possessed of strange and unfortunate ideas will always exist, and some will on occasion run for office, and they will get their one or two percent at the polls. However they largely need to be laughed off stage again.
It took a "have you no decency sir?" moment to get us there last time. What it will take this time is not known to me. Protest, while valuable, probably won't do this, because it addresses them as serious (I know we have to at the moment, there is no choice because they will keep passing laws). However, as long as we take them seriously, they will be seen as a legitimate side in a pro-con debate. Somehow we need to convert this to a "you can't really be serious and think that" moment.
