I had to stop and snap a few pictures. It's a shame they just don't convey the presence the mountains have here. If you have never been here, you really should make it a point to come.

...and those mountains also explain the existence of Denver, a city founded on the ethos of "Oh fuck that shit," which was the sentiment of many Westward-moving settlers when they came to the end of the plains and were presented with the Flatirons. "Yeah, no, right here is good."

(11,452 posts)those houses(sprawl) and that layer of haze wasn't there and that was open space. It made for a better picture. The Californication of Colorado is now complete.
