Largest MO Caucus Adjourns WITHOUT Conducting Business – No Delegates Selected

Largest MO Caucus Adjourns WITHOUT Conducting Business – No Delegates Selected

Never underestimate the ability of Republicans to let loose with both barrels directly into their own foot!

Missouri’s February primary, won by Rick Santorum, was a non-binding beauty contest. Delegates are to be awarded this year through the caucus process, and the St Charles County Caucus was to be held today, March 17.

The Caucus meeting was NEVER brought to order...

The venue was booked only till 1:00PM and at 11:30 the meeting still hadn’t been gaveled to order. After amassing what appeared to be nearly the entire St Charles County police department on site, including a circling helicopter, Dokes singlehandedly appointed a chairman of the caucus and other officers – without a vote. This again raised objection from the floor.

Another report:

GOP caucus in St. Peters is shut down

Republicans jammed caucus sites across the state on Saturday morning, with at least one site in St. Charles County shut down, injecting some uncertainty into the process.

A caucus in the gymnasium at Francis Howell North High School in St. Peters was shut down after about a half hour of boisterous disputes. Supporters of GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul were repeatedly yelling objections to decisions being made by caucus organizers.

Matt Ehlen, the caucus chairman, said that police ask that the session shut down for the safety of the hundreds of people present.

That caucus, the only one in St. Charles County, was supposed to award more delegates than any other caucus statewide. The caucus was adjourned without allocating delegates. The party's next step is uncertain.

Two Arrested At G.O.P. Caucus in St. Peters

ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOX) -Things got ugly at the Republican Party caucus in St. Charles County, Saturday morning.
