Maddow: Republicans don’t know what’s in their abortion bills

On Friday night’s edition of The Rachel Maddow Show, Rachel treated viewers to some of the priceless comments that Facebook users have been posting to the timelines of Sam Brownback and other Republican governors whose state legislatures are currently attempting to enact draconian anti-abortion laws.

“Do you have a crossword puzzle book that I can have, for in between pregnancies?” quipped one commenter, “Seeing as I can’t do much walking around with this aspirin between my knees.”

“Do you think it’s true that 100% of pregnancies in Kansas were caused by men?” asks another, “And if so, do you have a proposal to deal with them?”

It was a lighthearted way to segue into a more ominous subject, the fact that many of the Republican politicians pushing these laws on the public are ignorant as to their actual content. Maddow welcomes Rep. Jan Schakowski (D-Illinois) for the second half of this segment.

they don't care what's in any of these obscene bills. They don't. All they care about is that it is going to take Dems and the courts YEARS to undo all the damage they are inflicting. And while were' trying to fix all of this damage we won't be able to work on moving anything forward. They are assuring that we will spend the next 20 years trying to undo all of this shit.

first of all i think they view us as interloppers.. so they sabotage things on their way out.. a good case in point is the post office controversy.. they screwed it up in 06 with a poison pill, nowthe pill is getting results, yes its fixable but it takes time, also they have taken back the house in the mean time.. which gives the both more time and more mischief..

also they have a habit of packing the regulatory agencys with loyalists when they are in power.. further frustrating any efforts to address the problem..

and of course the "throw enough mud on the wall , some will stick" philosophy means exactly that.. will take years to iron out all the crap..

while Lee Atwaters "permanent campaign" has enegized the base of the party, it has proven impracticle as a way of governing.. the good news is that new emerging demographics are sealing thier fate.. the bad news is, that while the good news is inevitable, they can still do a lot of damage on the way out..
