Frankly, Zimmer's proposal to spend $70 million to put floodwalls around Hoboken and install pumps to emulate New Orleans sounds like a non-starter. It' hard enough to get barrier beach residents to give up their view of the ocean. Getting Hoboken residents to approve a flood wall along the Hudson would seem to be impossible.

Until Christie releases all the numbers there is a lack of objective data, but only a total moron would believe a Christie press release would be objective.

That 70 million they cite did not come from Christie, most of it came from insurance payouts to people who have been paying insurance premiums for years. For the administration to try to take credit for people getting insurance money shows how desperate they are.
