since she can't comment or respond to a few of her friends on you tube. Google is now linked with it and demands a real name. so they have kept her account from doing anything like responding to her friends.

Make the user name absurd and use that to log in to YouTube and all the rest.

They don't know my real first name and they won't if I can help it.

I recently saw someone with one on and he showed me what it can do.

You can take a photo, ask for directions, pull up a document, do a web search.

It takes voice commands.

IMO, interesting concept with a long way to go.

If you get involved in science fiction movies, books, comics or animation, the Google Glass concept is something that has been popularized for a couple of decades. It's essentially something that will be the next evolution of the phones we all carry.

These concepts have been around for decades and it's fun seeing the way it's coming into reality. Google Glass is pretty much the Apple Newton of them though, but it's something that will be released into the wilds and become more than it looks like now. I'm definitely excited for it.

In some ways it's a bad example, but look at how science fiction handles it since those areas cover the societal changes these produce in interesting ways such as Minority Report. I'm not sure I can explain it easily at the moment, but so many shows use them as a natural aspect of living, such as Almost Human, that you see a more connected world. Similarly, there were a lot of positive uses of it in the film Strange Days but also some dangerous ones. Such is the case with any tool.
