If foreign news media whipped up the kind of fear against a US based Olympic games

we'd never hear the end of it.
Let's face it special interests in the USA are just pissed that the Russians will not allow their spies, mercenaries and private security folks all over Russia for the Olympics.

I remember 1980 and the Moscow Olympic boycott. I remember the BS about China hosting the games in 2008.
Those who have dominated international sports and earned massive protests do not enjoy sharing the spoils. Always follow the money.

Several dozen people had been blown up on buses and in train stations in Vegas by people pledging to attack the LA Olympics the foreign media would be justified in raising those concerns.
