Rick Santorum: 'The Issue In This Race Is Not The Economy'

The Huffington Post | By Jon Ward Posted: 03/19/2012 11:45 am Updated: 03/19/2012 12:00 pm

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Rick Santorum's presidential campaign has been beset by the impression that he talks too much about things that are not central to the concerns of most voters, such as contraception, President Barack Obama's theology, and most recently, pornography.

On Monday morning, as Santorum kicked off a full day of campaigning in Illinois, where he trails Mitt Romney in the polls, Santorum gave critics of his messaging more ammunition.

"The issue in this race is not the economy," he said.

His statement was part of a longer monologue about why Obama's health care overhaul is a symbol of government overreach, and that Americans' freedoms are eroding.

...there isn't an "Obama campaign."

That's one golden moment. Maybe not as golden as Mitt talking about his football team-owning friends and his wife's multiple Cadillacs, but golden nonetheless.

And probing women for ultrasounds, telling doctors to lie about health conditions and risks, and forcing women to tell employer why she is using birth control is NOT?!??!?

But, what do women know. We would be so helpless without old, white men controlling our sex lives.

the whole idea is so ludicrous that it actually succeeds. At least in Texas and southern states.

Ask them what's wrong with it and they babble some incoherent crap about socialism the deficit.
Who knew they would develop group insanity over insurance reform.

I bet he stomps his feet and throws things when noone's looking. (Or when he thinks noone's looking)
This guy clearly doesn't have it together.

Because it IS about the economy and WAS about the economy in 2010. Republicans got in and did everything BUT work on the economy, and in many cases, attempted to sabotage it to make Obama look bad. People don't have as short of memories as you think they do, and as a whole, the American people aren't nearly as religious as you seem to think they are, either!
