In what constitutes breaking news on the right nowadays, right-wing blog PJ Media has discovered footage showing that Michelle Obama is black is a radical, and has been for, like, 23 years.
Hard on the heels of the Barack Obama Harvard Video That Wasnt, this video purports to show Michele Obama sitting crosslegged in a hallway occupying the deans office of Harvard Law School to advocate agitate for a faculty not only comprised of white dudes race-based hiring.
J Christian Adams, apparently learning from Breitbarts lessons in being scooped by other media outlets, went all the way to Boston to analyze the remaining tapes from Barack Obamas time in Harvard that have been sitting in WGBHs basement the elite media has been hiding. What he found was shocking (to him) and will surely change the way he we think about the Obamas.
If you have time to kill care about the truth, head over and take a look at Adams article, which is a model of anachronistic writing. Adams crows over finding the other Obama in his search, though the two had not even met in 1988, and describes her as occupying the deans office, which is a contemporary reference, and so on. These slips are not meaningless: occupying, to the Big Government crowd, connotes violence and rape; a handful of Harvard law students sitting in a hallway is a whole different cup of decaffeinated tea. Adams defamation is in his verb choice.
It should also be noted that there is no proof that this is Michelle Obama in the video. She was a Harvard Law student at that time, and totally the type who would have participated in a sit-in, but the image is blurry. Adams swears that on the video he sawwhich was of much better quality, trust himits totally clear thats Michelle Obama. Trust him.
But whats a little anachronistic name-calling over blurry 23-year-old images among mericans? The point is
Im not sure what the point is. Both Barack and Michelle Obama are African American, and have been continually conscious, on personal, political, professional and intellectual levels, of their race, because they didnt have a choice (and still dont, thanks to this nonsense). This fact seems to constantly confound the more conspiratorial corners of the right, who take any evidence of its existence as a stunning revelation of radical ideology, as opposed to a daily part of the lives of black Americans.
But if merely being conscious of race as an issue constitutes controversy, theres conceivably no limit to the amount of material that exists of potential Obama smoking guns. A treasure trove of information is coming out regarding Barack Obamas time in college, writes Adams . . .

(14,177 posts)makes me like her a lot more. She looks really laid back and determined all at the same time. That is not an easy posture to weild so well. Shows a lot of depth of character that she would lobby for other people to have a chance at a job they want as well. So purely non-selfish. But, I guess Republicans and conservatives no longer have any idea what that looks like, so they fear it.

(85,996 posts)I'm not falling for their attempt to recast the struggle for equal rights and opportunity as some sort of pernicious evil. I think the images of the types of activism they think are so taboo and offensive strike most Americans today as righteous reminders of a brave and noble fight which they're proud to identify themselves with.
