Tribune wire reports

6:45 a.m. CST, February 2, 2014

Groundhog handlers say Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow Sunday morning, forecasting six more weeks of winter.

The rotund rodent exited his subterranean residence at Gobblers Knob in the western Pennsylvania town of Punxsutawney around 7:20 a.m. on Groundhog Day, according to groundhog.org.

When Phil sees his shadow -- the legend goes -- there will be six more weeks of snow and freezing temperatures.

1. I don't think Phil even had to get out of bed to call this one.

I think, even if Spring came today, it would take 6 weeks to melt all the snow we've got. And, looking at the forecast, Spring ain't coming any time soon.

Can't do anything about the 6 more weeks until Spring, but damn. Enough is enough!! The only up side to our record breaking snow fall is it will help the ground water table.

We are still sweating in SoCal.
All your water drops and snowballs would be appreciated.
