(72,300 posts)The names only help to remind me of how many storms we've had this winter. Nope. It's not more fun for me *she says as she watches the snow falling*.

(180 posts)So far this year, most of the storms have tracked either north or south of my area. The one storm we did get only left 3 inches of snow. This morning, local computer weather projections showed my area getting over 9 inches! Finally, a real winter storm. Looking forward to pelting my husband with snowballs and dropping snow down the back of his shirt. He says snow is not allowed so I gotta torture him.

Directv also dropped TWC last month and replaced it with a WEATHER channel. I love it! I turn it on and see.... weather, it truly is amazing.

(6,399 posts)At least here in the Boston area, I've seen nary a station talk about them in terms of names. Whether what The Weather Channel is doing will catch on is very much up in the air. And with the way nobody is talking about it, even online in more mainstream areas, it's doubtful it will.
