An Utter FRAUD of a TeaBagger - thank you CSpan, but at the same time, shame on you Cspan

Late friday evening, I think it was friday, I flipped on Cspan and noted that the TeaParty (which sect of the TeaParty it was was not clear at first, but it was the evangelical sliver). I listened through a couple of speakers and was truly dismayed by the tripe these assclowns have inhaled and now regurgitate to a slop-sucking audience (in Myrtle Beach hosted the affair).

My patience with the tripe that was being ended with a Mr. Bob Menges, one of the tribe I had managed to miss over the years. Mr. Menges spoke and claimed over and over again that he was an expert on "The Constitution" and Supreme Court law relating thereto. During he speech - such as that nonsensical diatribe turned out to be - he made reference to his qualifications which included, according to him "teaching law, and specifically his course work related to, once again, The Constitution and the Supreme Courts decisions relative thereto. Bob made his teaching claim at least twice and it spurred the question in my head, 'what Law School would allow this fellow a voice?' because what he was spewing was and continued to be more of the aforementioned tripe.

Internet to the rescue. Needless to say I looked up Bob Menges on a search engine and to tell the truth I was surprised how little there was other than Bob's own pages on himself. I avoided those until I discovered nothing elsewhere. So what I'm about to tell you about this fucking fraud, this disgrace of a man, and this clear and present danger to the well being of children all over this land (but I'd bet who are concentrated in our coastal south region).

It turns out Bob has written his a bit of an essay titled "The Constitution and the Supreme Court" and uses this document as the basis for a class he charges Home School parents of teenagers to teach to their children. This Fraud who would have you believe he teaches a legitimate course at one of the Nation's Law Schools notes in his own biography that he has taught this tripe to more than 135 teen aged home schoolers. That is the basis of his claim to have taught law.

I was actually shocked on first reading it. And then the disgust whelmed up in my. A fraud, no other word for it, just a plain and disgraceful fraud.

Thought you'd like to know. The guy is from and appears to speak a good bit around the Charleston, SC. If you see him you might wish to inquire ....

5. I don't think any of what he said was in error, I think he meant every word of it.

It was a lot of misrepresentation of simple plucked 'facts'. Things like attributing public mood in the late 1780's of coastal Virginia to the things said to persuade the voters of central New York (Circa 1775) on certain matters concerning the proposed new Constitution. In that case crass misuse of the "Federalist Papers", and then there was the pandering to the religious right that was present, the usual balder-dash of all the "founding fathers" driven to produce a blessed nation devout to only the sweet baby lord Jesus as described by all men of good faith from the highest Lutheran right down the your common Baptist - and all church ordained little squiggletts in-between - oh and not for a moment to forget our Papists. Them too.

The guy in question has no legitimacy in implying he was a College Professor - and if you get to see him on a rerun take note how casually he tosses this tidbit about himself in. Implication, to be sure, but it is clear as a bell that he is misrepresenting himself, but then his target audience. Home Schooling just scares the hell out of me. And I've seen it work, I actually know homed schooled children who have exceptional educations as far as I can see. They seem well versed in history, can read and write proficiently, can do their cyphers, and have had a taste of the philosophers too. But then I've seen the others

9. If you want to see some really scary home school textbooks look up beka books from the abeka company

They make something like 50 million a year peddling their misinformation. Things like, slaves had it better in the south than the free northern blacks, they call Emily Dickinson a hack, I can't even remember the rest. I posted an article a while back about the ten worst things taught in those books.
The whole beka books/home-schooling thing may come back up though because the Republican woman who gave the response to the SOTU graduated from the college that the beka people run. It's called Pensacola Christian College. The school is seriously scary. You have to look it up and read some of the comments about life there.

those notions can be traced to the sermons and writings of this former Arthur Murray dance instructor and incredibly bad toupee wearer, now deceased. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._James_Kennedy

I am sure Falwell and others like him played their roles, too, but Pastor Kennedy seemed to specialize in U.S. "history" in his sermons.
