The NFL is Like Big Tobaaco Companies - Cruel, Ruthless and Dishonest

If you read DU and other progressive/Democrat Party sites, then you're probably well aware of the oligarch's relentless efforts to bring working American citizens into indentured servitude. You are also aware that when we attempt to explain it to low information voters, or good honest Americans they usually brush us off as hysterical or paranoid.

The mythos of the American dream, and the America where hard work and playing by the rules allows those born with nothing a shot at improving their lives. Of course, it can still happen and occasionally does, but with the new gilded age of massive income inequality along with Citizens United, the perverse psychopathic religiously insane Republican party, coupled with the incredibly powerful message perfected by Ronald Reagan few will accept the dangerous reality of our culture.

In a nutshell, sociopathic billionaires and wealthy beyond comprehension fossil fuel corporations have purchased our government, created an alternate reality (Faux News) and mastered the technique of manipulating honest Americans by using their virtues against them. Keep your government hands off of my Medicare, welfare queens driving Cadillacs, rugged individualism to name a few have masked the reality that billionaires and corporations have rigged the game to receive unwarranted government assistance in spite of their enormous profits and status as not for profit.

Many Americans are aware of the bank bailouts, but believe President Obama initiated them, and almost no one knows the banks too big to fail, are still receiving government loans, virtually interest free to keep them afloat while they write off their bad loans AND receiving tax breaks for those losses. So we subsidize their criminal and incompetent behavior even more, as they then charge us penalties and interest on the money we give them. Not to mention the fraudulent mortgage default actions.

It is seemingly insurmountable to break through the corruption and to convince average America we better practice civil disobedience and fast. Perhaps though, a good wedge issue and expose of the darling of America may help wake people to reality.

Republicans and particularly Karl Rove and the Bushies used the tactic, with alarming results, to attack the strengths of their opponents. "Swiftboating" as it's known and after learning about the NFL's cruelty towards injured players (and the referees) as well as the NFL's unique privileges I am appalled and now despise the National Football League. More importantly I think it is the perfect issue to educate Americans to the truth about our "free enterprise system". It is anything but a free enterprise system.

(Before I continue, I am not advocating a true free market because it destroys itself, is cruel and cannot properly produce goods and services to enough people. I post this to begin building a consensus to use the NFL as the poster child of corruption in America.)

It has it all. It is hugely popular, an American icon, meant for leisure, fun and games. Sports is an obsession of many Americans and I predict that if casual America learns the truth of the NFL, and how they ruthlessly manipulate us then it may be the break we're looking for.

The NFL uses taxpayer money to build stadiums and the bullshit about creating jobs is not even close to accurate.
The NFL is immune from anti-trust laws, so they can operate as a monopoly.
The NFL is classified as not for profit. Incredible, yet they don't follow those guidelines.
The NFL ruthlessly locks out players when bargaining.
The NFL tried to break the referee's union.
The NFL went all "atomic" on anyone who sued them for damages for any reason, but especially leading up to the concussion cover-up.
Not to mention that the NFL practices socialism by sharing revenues with all teams.

The NFL is on par with Big Tobacco.

F*&k the NFL and the billionaires who take our money then charge $9 for a beer etc., and knowingly covered up concussions and injuries by shunning those humans. Humans who contributed to the billionaires need for more money.

So, I ask everyone to begin talking about the dark side of the National Football League, to write letters to the editor and to the NFL, as well as on every blog and website possible announcing that we will no longer buy their product(s).

I ask that we begin loudly and often ask why taxpayers are needed to subsidize billionaire's stadiums, when they are dishonest and treat Americans as idiots.

For the love of everything, when is enough, enough? Maybe sports where passion and pride are extreme, is the corrupted relationship gone one too far.

These bastards take our money and then have the nerve to act like they are masters of the universe, and then whine about having to provide health insurance or pay fair wages.

I say, the National Football League is the poster child of corruption in the American system today and it is the perfect issue to reach the casual voter.

The National Football League is like the banks where losses are socialized and profits privatized.
The National Football League is socialist when it suits the billionaires, yet free market when pricing, hiring or firing.
The National Football League treats players as sub-human where players lose their health and are discarded as trash, thus the NFL may have killed players indirectly.

The National Football League is like big tobacco companies because the National Football League put profits over the lives of its employees.

Please, let all who care shun the NFL and publicly speak out against it's favored tax status, its cruel treatment of human beings and the fact that we the people wind up paying for their stadiums.

The National Football League knowingly lies to America, knowingly covered up the concussion scandal and yet they receive government hand-outs and taxpayer money.

I say this to all - this is the perfect issue to use as how big money has corrupted the American system. Please begin using this to all the tea party idiots and the average guy across the street. Maybe it will help.

Finally, did you read the USA Today article where the NFL is purposely driving towards being a rich man's sport? Look it up and we are giving them our tax dollars to do it.

I don't know about you but I've had enough of this crap.

but thanks to the really bad idea that some people and organizations shouldn't pay in started the whole process that has landed us here. We have some of the highest taxes on earth, but the only people that pay them are those least able to evade them.

So, make all income equal, tax it all at the same rate, and most of us could get an actual cut in our contribution.
