By Todd Cooper
UPDATE: Amanda Heiman was convicted Thursday of felony procuring of alcohol for a minor-resulting in death in connection with the December 2012 death of 18-year-old Jacob Dickmeyer.
Heiman, 21, will be sentenced in April. She faces up to five years in prison or five years of probation.
Testimony showed that Heiman, who worked at the Fire Barn bar in Waterloo, Neb., had served alcohol to Dickmeyer and another friend, despite the fact that she knew that both were underage.
Minutes after leaving the bar, Dickmeyer died after rolling Heiman's car on West Dodge Road.

OP
Sad story. Sounds like there is a lot of blame to go around, including with the young man who died.

Kind of sucks when a 21-year-old is convicted of a felony for having served another adult

It was her responsibility to "card" people who came into the bar asking to be served alcohol. Kind of ironic that she was not of legal drinking are, either, when this happened.

alcoholic beverages all the while noted banksters, fraudsters, and war criminals roam free impervious to prosecution. Laws that disallow some adults the privileges of being an adult and those that allow the very young to be prosecuted as adults are an abomination imo.

Nebraska doesn't have a Stand Your Ground kill-whomever-you-want law.
