I was still wearing my twice as nice (I gave dbl reds) sticker yesterday at work. A citizen commented on it through the bullet proof window and asked me to please step out into the police dept. lobby. I had no idea what she wanted. Grandma went on to explain her granddaughter requires a blood product often and started to cry. I had no idea about the disease her loved one suffered from. I understood the emotion of gratitude through the tears on my shoulder. It was the first time I remember ever getting a comment from someone that has a connection to a loved one that benefits from donating blood. Twice as nice any day....
