Police: Teen Tricked Oklahoma Walmart Managers Out Of Nearly $30,000

NORMAN, Okla. (CBS Houston) – A 17-year-old scammed 3 Oklahoma Walmart stores out of nearly $30,000, reports KFOR-TV.

Police say the teen, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile, conned the managers of those stores into thinking he was an employee.

At a Walmart in Moore, the teen “acted as if he was a general manager from another store,” says the police report. He told the managers he was doing an inventory before corporate higher ups came to inspect them after the holidays.

Surveillance cameras recorded the teen all alone in the cash room where he took “multiple bundles of cash, stuffing them inside his pockets and clothes,” says the report.

... Who was complaining how it was unfair that the officers got paid more when all they did was "paperwork."

I ribbed him about it a few years later once he had some experience and knew with certainty that he was happy with his job and wouldn't take mine to save his life.

smart, Walmart pretty dumb. His big mistake was not knowing when to quit.

I will admit that I laughed at the story.

taking initiative and critical thinking. But now we are supposed to be employees, and not ask questions or think for ourselves. That's not "efficient".

In every episode the detective, Jim Rockford, used this exact same technique.

He'd assume a character and a role to trick some one, and then gain access to evidence or other information that he needed.

But then somewhere around 1980, it all changed, that thinking stuff interferes with the buynbg mood, so it's straight sex, violence and monkey politics, preferably decorated with suitable product placements throughout.

Tyrants to their direct reports, and craven yes-men to those above them. When businesses focus only on the the next quarter's results instead of building something long-term, people like that thrive -- and in fact are necessary to keep the game going. They're beatable, though, as this article illustrates.

that its easy to get one's hands on a spare uniform. He was playing a role and did a pretty good job of it. All of us who work in retail are actors in a small time role because there are 50 cameras surrounding me and audio recording throughout the store.

Not saying I support stealing but where can I send money to his jail commissary?

17 is old enough that repeated, large-scale, premeditated theft needs to be punished with a jail term.
