You will find if you examine the question that a lot of posturing in geopolitics is just about that.

But what intrigues me is this: there have been a number of DU posts chortling over this act by Iran, all with a greater-or-lesser subtext of "Imagine that, those people thinking they can threaten the Great U S of A." Somehow that seems like equal posturing, and indeed an endorsement of the militarism that plagues us and leads us to spend so much on a military that is larger than all of the world's combined. So here's my question: why would a member of DU endorse, implicitly or otherwise, the perpetuation of the US military-industrial complex?
