USF Class of 2014 linebacker Vincent Jackson Jr. "Can't play with a dude on my team knowing..."

Shortly after former Missouri DE and 2013 SEC Defensive Player of the Year Michael Sam came out as gay, USF Class of 2014 signee and linebacker Vincent Jackson Jr. tweeted the following.

Retribution was understandably swift for Sam’s foot-in-mouth comment, and it wasn’t long until he deleted the offending tweet and issued an apology.

My comment came out wrong and disrespectful. Micheal Sam is a great player and I wish nothing but the best. God bless

Perhaps it’s a sign that from a tolerance standpoint, football is heading in the right direction when more people call out Jackson for his homophobia rather than voice their support for it.

millions of people. What an arrogant and ignorantly bigoted man he is. Any team that takes him is taking an admittedly weak minded, weak willed infantile whiner onto their team.
