Tent fire at OccupyRochester the result of arson

The past several nights a group who have posted a FB page 'We want our park back..." have been harassing the Occupiers of Washington Square Park at erradic hours and posting YouTube videos of their mischief.

Last night at 4 a.m. a tent was set on fire from the outside and someone was seen fleeing the area on foot as Occupiers scrambled to put the fire out.

Additionally, a peroxide 'bomb' which failed to detonate was tossed into a communal use tent.

Fire investigators and law enforcement are dragging their feet, on the eve when the contact with the City of Rochester is set to expire.

No one was seriously injured, but an Occupier was taken to the hospital with burns to his feet, he returned several hours later.

This is what we're up against with folks who disagree with us. It's a shame at best, and criminal at it's worst.

Please keep OccupyRochester in your thoughts this evening...
