The Corporate Attack on Clean Food

" As organic food consumption has grown 15 to 20 percent annually for the past decade, a disturbing trend has appeared: mainstream media stories smearing the health and safety record of organic food and disparaging organic farming practices...

"...Behind the scenes, helping to push the anti-organics agenda is a small, well-funded group of conservative think tanks such as the Hudson Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute and the Hoover Institution. These organizations and their representatives have successfully shoveled their misleading studies and extreme viewpoints through the mainstream media’s inbox and into public broadcast....

I always thought a basic rule of economics was if there is a market for a product someone will supply it.

Agri-business conglomerates and other related businesses are all in bed with each other. GMO development to pesticides to pharmaceuticals to mega farms and ranches. The farmers who are not in on the mega-bucks are brainwashed to believe that they need all the products manufactured by these mega-corporations. It has been a slow process to get them to move to organic farming.

It's all woo if you don't buy into the corporate bullshit. And then ingest loads of pharmaceuticals to counteract the poor nutrition.

Even though I sometimes do buy conventionally grown produce I can't imagine the motivation of someone who gets on his soapbox and tells people that organic is schmorganic. (a scam). Karma will be a bitch to some people.

are angry that people are questioning the Big Organics(TM) Movement(C) and their fear tactics and outright misleading claims.

Lots and lots and lots of money to be made in FUD and ludicrous claims about ones product.

Organic isn't bad at all, but it is WAAAAAAYYYYY over-hyped, and unfortunately; riddled with lies and pure bullshit.

"While the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations reports numerous health and environmental benefits from organic farming practices, including reduced levels of contaminants in foods, a whole series of press articles and radio and TV programmes on both sides of the Atlantic have recently been reporting the exact opposite: that organic agriculture is actually more risky than industrial agriculture.

"The items below show how these reports are actually part of an orchestrated campaign of disinformation involving industry-backed proponents of GM and how they are grounded in bogus research and a series of false claims...
