that was pretty much the end of it. Since the new year it's been basically shorts and tank top weather most of the time. And yeah, no measurable rain during our traditionally rainiest months.

I asked if you were stupid, and I based that question on two things: (1) playing off the title of your OP, and (2) your response in the previous post, which I found either purposely evasive or...well, stupid. Here's the thing. I was in journalism school ages ago. Every word has meaning. When you chose the word "woman" that gave the author's gender meaning. If you had called her out by name or by profession this wouldn't have happened.

Stupid anti-climate writer writes stupid article gives me information about the subject matter under discussion. Now, when I click that link I'm going to do so to see what the anti-climate change folks are saying. Now it's purely subject based and has zero to do with the author's gender.

C. I learn that this is not the case. The topic at hand is climate-change. I find the stupid on climate change to be pretty much based on political affiliation rather than gender.

So, why is gender the descriptor of choice? It conveys almost no relevant information about the subject matter.

When race and gender terms are not relevant to the subject matter, the purpose they serve is to continue a long narrative that the audience has with that class of people...

Actually, "climate change" was the focus group tested term that the GOP came up with to replace "global warming". Warming is what is going on. But the GOP found that calling it "climate change" reduced the concern and fear over it. Sadly, it is also the term that avoids the argument about why there are severe snow storms when we have global "warming". But it also takes the concern and fear out of it and undermines efforts to address it (although I don't think anything will get people to actually address it).

It is true whether you believe it or not. Maybe she should try denying gravity or maybe wind and rain. Maybe she should doubt the sun or the moon. She can apparently say anything, that does not make her right. It also does not matter how many people agree with her, they do not change actual science.

These past few months have been, IMO, more wackier than usual... one day having highs over 20c, and a few days later having high's as high as -10c. In January. In the middle of North Carolina. If I were to equate the weather stability as of late to that of the suspension of a motor vehicle, I'd say that the weather stability's "suspension system" has been shot and the weather needs new struts & shocks.

Polar Vortex/Jet Stream/Ocean current equate to one of a planets cooling mechanisms.
