With all our technology

we can't invent a special gun that will stop somebody and not kill them that would be acceptable to both the anti-gun lobby and pro self-defense side?

And why wasn't Zimmerman armed with just a taser? A gun seems a little extreme for a gated community neighborhood watch.

sure , they scream and yell about self defense but it really has nothing to do with the issue. It's about being able to kill easily.

Guns are very rarely used for self defense. The number of murders, suicides and accidental deaths far out number the times a gun is successfully used in self defense. You're much better off with a big dog then a gun.

That's the low end of what DoJ estimates on annual Defensive Gun Uses (DGU) for their 2010 report.

But, then again I'm sure oyu feel that Eric Holder runs a place full of gun loving liars, so why trust their numbers.

You just keep making up numbers and posting them where no one will ever question them. It will make you feel better.

because there aren't any...

The unavailable stat for the gun control debate is how many times the presence of weapons has either helped or hurt a situation.

A gun used to hold a thief until cops arrived is not counted anywhere. Neither is it when the display of a weapon was enough to get a criminal to go away.

Same thing goes when people are threatened with guns and do not report it, though its unlikely in some jurisdictions a cop would be sent to take one.

As for tasers, they only have one shot. A conventional handgun is far more effective.
