Why is Thom Hartmann such a douche? He agrees with...

...Bill Maher on MSNBC coverage of Chris Cristie.

Says it's a local story since Cristie isn't running for national office and that there are much bigger issues going on in the world right now!

Hartmann = Maher = douche

(of course I don't think that of either man)

It's graphic, textbook corruption.

And there is a myriad of invaluable spinoff subplots.... not the least of which is the collusion of many DEMS and much of the media w. this vile *creeeeeeeeeeeeep*.

To say "Christie" is unimportant is to say you don't understand it.

Who said it's unimportant?

I love DU for this. A few days ago someone said I made a "demand of others" and based their reply on my imaginary "demand." I'll tell you what I told him: you came to this discussion with your mind made up about what you wanted me to have said so that it fits your response.

Talking about the generic "you".

Allow me to rephrase:

To deny the significance of Christie-gate is demonstrate one's lack of understanding of it.

And I'm talking about Maher and Hartmann, btw. Both of whom I like. They're just wrong. (Actually Maher will just blurt out crazy talk to stir the pot, but TH is just mistaken.)

Not referencing *you*.

that should receive some coverage, but not wall to wall.

There are other things also going on around the country, but you know what? NJ is very easy to cover for the NY based media. The California drought and how it will affect your lettuce prices in the middle of nowhere in fly over country due to a historic drought, means actual real money spent. I used the California drought just as an example of OTHER news that is not getting coverage, for the most part.

Christie is a Republican. He's a jerk....Perhaps a corrupt jerk. Certainly deserves attention, but....

I find MSNBC especially troublesome on this because other issues of far more import go ignored or quickly dismissed -- especially issues involving its parent company Comcast and the future of communications.

It would be helpful if Rachel of Chris Hayes or others spent a little less time zeroing in on wayward port authority cops and a little more time on big pictures that affect everyone.

P.S. Hartmann is not a jerk...Maher is sometimes a jerk.

It is old news nobody (as in those who were not in the traffic jam or live in NJ NYC Metro area) really gives a crap any more. Yes CC is involved but those who would vote for CC love what he did and now think it is a democratic party witch hunt now.

Those who follow politics care but we are in a small minority.

I tried to watch Rachel the other night and the lead story was Bridgegate so I watched South Park instead,

Until a trial(s) occurs MSNBC should move on to some thing else.

An in-depth expose on the Hamilton Project would be a great subject for Rachel and MSNBC.

"good Democrats".

Christie's Presidential hopes are done, now he's working to avoid becoming Blago's roommate. As for the rest, corruption in state government, what a shock...

We've got 50 of them, and none of them are honest in my experience, though there is definitely a scale.

Personally, I'd get rid of politics and elections all together and dole all the offices as one-term drafts that are really hard to get out of. I don't think random morons with no hope of a career in office would do any worse than those who want the jobs.

MSNBC talks about a lot of different issues all the time but yes, they are sticking with the Christie story as a top story.
They will also continue to bring updates and Christie is not always the first story anymore. TPP is not Rachels main story, it seems that Ed is taking that one and he supports it so, it is being covered.... but just not the way many people want it covered.

People can go to msnbc and easily see all of the different topics that are being covered.
They can click on Explore, pick a topic and you will see loads of thumbnails regarding said subject. Not everything is there though.
If you go to Rachel Maddow's area you can see the Video Segments and the titles which gives you an idea of what else is being covered.

Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow and even Lawrence O'Donnell are political junkies and they have admitted as much. The Christie story is right up their alley and I'm glad they are covering it so well. It should be covered. It's a story that will most likely make other states take a hard look at their politics and the games people play (which can effect people in need like the Sandy victims).

Some viewers tune in at 5, some at 6 and some at 7. So some of the stories can feel repetitive if one is watching all three hours.
