Maduro challenges Obama to 'high-level' dialogue

Maduro challenges Obama to 'high-level' dialogue

Caracas (AFP) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro challenged his US counterpart Barack Obama on Friday to hold "high-level dialogue" between their governments, as opposition protests rattled the leading OPEC member.

"I call a dialogue with you, President Obama... between the patriotic and revolutionary Venezuela and the United States and its government. Accept the challenge and we will start a high-level dialogue and put the truth on the table," Maduro told a news conference with foreign reporters.

After so many years of demanding we stay out of his business now, suddenly, he wants to "put the truth on the table." It sounds like a cheap stunt for an even cheaper excuse for his troubles to be had at Obama's expense.

If Obama ignores Maduro's silliness Obama will be accused of failing to act.

If I could advise the President I'd tell him to schedule the talks and then at the appointed hour call Maduro from the golf course, "Oh. Hey! Was that today? Totally my bad, dude. I'll have my people send you a couple of cases of Angel Soft." and then hang-up and settle back in to his stance.

As for McCain, I couldn't give a rat's rear end about that rat's rear end.

Maybe he wants to discuss the results of the criminal investigation into Hugo Chavez's cancer.

This after he accuses the US of trying to oust him and expelling diplomatic personnel.
