Northern Florida bears far more in common with Mississippi than with a place like Miami or Orlando. I would say it would remain so for the next generation, at least.

But truth be told, the coastal areas of Mississippi are far more tolerable than anything deeper inland. The deeper you go, the more socially conservative it becomes. Orlando and Miami are melting pots. You meet so many different people and are in contact with so many cultures. I remember before staff meetings working for Disney World hearing French, Creole, Spanish, Portuguese, and English being spoken at the same time before the meeting was called to order.

States are almost never homogeneous things.

Here in PA, the old joke is "I thought I knew geography, but I found that Mississippi lies between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia."

He was a delusional cop wanna be. He could have lived anywhere. The problem with that neighborhood is that the units are crammed together with no space and no privacy. It is located in West Sanford close to the best areas. I looked at a unit in there and they were nice but no parking and no common areas or amenities. This was a case of shoddy police work. Of course it's not an entire state - that's why I look for the socio-economic problems that make it SEEM that way.
