MADISON RISING bills themselves as America's Most Patriotic Rock Band.

They just sang the National Anthem for today's race at Daytona. It was atrocious, off key and hokey. Flag waving is a way to get cheap applause. Bands do that all the time when they can't get applause because they are not very talented. Lead singer Dave Bray is a Navy veteran and uses his military service as his back story for being a musician which is fine. Maybe he does good work for veterans. Hell. Jimi Hendrix was in the military and played the National Anthem but he didn't do it as a "flag waving" tool to get applause. He did it as a protest by including the gunfire and falling bombs as a guitar effect. Vietnam was being protested all over the country at that time.

I know a lot of very famous musicians, some are friends, but they would never use their previous military service as a cynical vehicle to gain fame.
