Its a good chance they will then offer him a season contract.

or when they want to try and see how a particular player fits their system.

A player can sign two 10 day contacts with an individual team and then they have to either be signed for the rest of the season or released.

athletes can reconsider their lives. Pressure, too, because most know who are gay anyway...just not ready for the public or risk to hard-fought major league careers. I wish all of them well.
